Global construction information publisher and owner of Off-Highway Research, KHL Group, is acquiring the USA-based publisher Diesel & Gas Turbine Publication Group (D>P).

USA-based D>P, founded in 1935 and located in Wisconsin, is a leading publisher of information for the on-highway, off-highway, stationary and marine engine-powered equipment markets. It focuses on the construction and agriculture, power generation and commercial vehicle equipment sectors through its North American magazine Diesel Progress and globally through Diesel Progress International.

The acquisition will be effective on February 1st, 2018.

A new title, New Power Progress, for electrification, hybrids and new engine and powertrain technologies, has recently been successfully launched. In addition, D>P publishes COMPRESSORtech2 for the gas compression industry, and Diesel & Gas Turbine Worldwide, a highly respected website covering the global rail, power generation, marine and oil and gas large horsepower markets.

D>P directors Mike Osenga and Mike Brezonick have built an international reputation for their magazines, directories and websites. They will continue to lead the company while working closely with Trevor Pease, KHL Americas’ President and James King, Managing Director of KHL Group.

James King explained, “This is a fantastic opportunity for KHL to grow by acquiring three market leading publications, digital media and directories. Diesel Progress has a great brand, great heritage and is run by great people.

“Having Diesel Progress magazines in the KHL stable is a perfect strategic fit and also provides excellent opportunities to collaborate with KHL’s market research and management consultancy division, Off-Highway Research, which focuses on equipment sales and manufacturing data”.

King added, “This consolidates KHL’s position as the largest and most-respected provider of international construction information. By utilising KHL’s international network of offices, digital expertise and events division, we can quickly develop and expand these already-strong magazine brands.

“This acquisition continues to transform KHL towards its long-term vision of becoming a full-line information, data, events, research, consultancy and communications company. All delivered to our readers in whatever format they prefer to consume it, whether that is digital, print or face-to-face. Right now I cannot think of any better company than D>P to complement KHL’s existing information products.”

Mike Osenga, president of Diesel & Gas Turbine Publications, said; “One of our strategic goals in recent years has been to extend the reach of the many markets we cover. Joining with KHL allows us to do that and so much more. KHL’s unparalleled global network, as well as their market research, events and management consultancies, are exactly what Diesel & Gas Turbine Publications needs to continue to grow and expand. We could not be more pleased to join with KHL, the global information market leader.”

KHL Group has offices in the UK, USA, Chile, China, India and Turkey. It publishes 12 magazines and offers e-newsletters, exhibitions, conferences, awards and management consultancy services. Its magazines include International Construction, Construction Europe, International Cranes & Specialized Transport, International Rental News, Access InternationalAmerican Cranes & Transport and Construction Latin America.
