New high for Indian paver industry

By Chris Sleight |  26 April 2019

Sales and production of asphalt finishers in India moved past 1,100 units for the first time in 2018. With continued investment expected in the country’s roads over the medium term, sales are expected to move more than 10 per cent higher over the next five years.

The growth rates seen in the Indian paver market over the last three years have attracted a large number of suppliers. Off-Highway Research’s new Equipment Analysis on the industry lists 21 active suppliers, all but one of which manufacture domestically. The report also analyses the structure of the market by tracked and wheeled pavers, size class, drive technology and looks at production, including component sourcing. Foreign trade, domestic market shares (including shares by size class) are also a feature as is Off-Highway Research’s five-year demand forecast.
