Sales of telescopic handlers in Germany reached their highest ever at nearly 4,700 units in 2018. This represented a 22 per cent rise on the previous year’s total.

The German market for telehandlers is significantly smaller than that of France and the UK, partly because of the traditional use of other types of equipment in construction such as self-erecting tower cranes and compact wheeled loaders – increasingly telescopic boom variants. However, the last two years have seen strong demand from agriculture, where the machines are increasingly being embraced by the younger generation of farmers.
