China Market Report examines impact of coronavirus

By Chris Sleight |  26 February 2020

The March 2020 edition of Off-Highway Research’s Chinese Service monthly Market Report looks at the impact to date of the coronavirus outbreak on construction output in the country. The key impact has come following the 24th January Spring Festival Holiday due to quarantine and isolation procedures which have prevented many projects from restarting.

The Market Report article highlights some of the provinces and construction segments which have been most affected and reports on the current outlook of when activity may restart.

Off-Highway Research believes this will inevitably lead to a fall in construction equipment sales in China in the first quarter of the year. This will have far-reaching consequences for OEMs, their suppliers and distributors, and these issues are discussed in the report.
