Demand for wheeled loaders in France soared in the late 2010s. Despite the impacts of Covid-19 last year, the market is expected to remain reasonable in the coming years before surpassing the previous high of 2019 in the early 202s0s.
Off-Highway Research’s new equipment analysis report on the wheeled loader industry in France said, “2021 should see demand stabilise at levels similar to 2020, which keep demand at around 88 per cent of the 2019 level. What supports demand for compact wheeled loaders under 80 horsepower and small to mid-sized wheeled loaders from 80 to 300 horsepower in the mid-term (from 2021 to 2024) is again the trend for landscaping, recycling, and biogas production.
“Despite Covid-19, small and medium sized businesses show full order books going into 2021, along with great optimism for the year to come. The impact of historically low interest rates has strongly affected the French construction sector, and has greatly increased confidence amongst buyers of construction equipment, with many contractors continuing their fleet renewals. Contractors which buy a wheeled loader equipped with a Stage V, electric or alternative fuel engine enjoy tax subsidies to encourage the replacement of old equipment that is a minimum of minimum of five years old, according to the fiscal law approval in April 2020.”
