Off-Highway Research's Director of Research in China, Shi Yang, will speak at the forthcoming International Rental Conference Asia (IRC) in Shanghai. His presentation will focus on the booming market for powered access platforms in China, drawing on the findings of Off-Highway Research's Special Report on the industry.

IRC will be held on October 31, 2017 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), within the APEX Asia and CeMAT Asia exhibitions. It will be located in its own, purpose-built conference theatre within the APEX Asia hall.

This will be the fifth time the International Rental Conference Asia has been held. Previous events have seen the audience of rental managers and owners, equipment manufacturers and dealers receive a mix of expert rental management advice from senior figures in the domestic and international equipment rental industry.

China’s rental market is expanding, particularly in aerial platforms, as safety and productivity increase in importance and as business practices change among equipment owners. This has seen the rapid development of access platform manufacture in China as international manufacturers such as Genie (Terex), Haulotte and JLG have set up local factories, several Chinese powered access equipment makers have also emerged.

Off-Highway Research’s report, The Powered Access Industry in China, will be published in September. It looks at the history of powered access in China, including the legislative drivers which have spurred the industry, along with relevant background information on the economy and construction industry. The report analyses market size by platform type and size class and looks at historic growth trends. It also looks at market shares and provide a five-year forecast.

Further sections cover production volumes by manufacturer and identify suppliers of key components, and look at other market dynamics, such as retail pricing levels, marketing and distribution arrangements, customer groups and end-users, and the size of the current working fleet of platforms in China. The report also includes profiles on key manufacturers, dealers and rental companies in the powered access industry.
