2. South American countries added to Global Volume & Value Service

As part of our new coverage of South America, Off-Highway Research has added the countries of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru to its Global Volume & Value Service. This data is available now to all existing subscribers to the service at no additional charge to subscription fees that have already been paid.

The data comprises historic sales in each country by equipment type for 2021 and 2022, with a forecast for 2023-2027. Prior to 2021, these countries were included in the ‘Rest of the World’ data line. From 2021 onwards they are no longer included in the Rest of the World line as they are named separately in the database. The definition of the Rest of the World data is that in any given year it comprises all countries in the world which are not named individually in the database.

The addition of the five major markets in South America, along with the Czech Republic and Poland in Europe and the splitting of North America into USA and Canada means the Global Volume & Value Service now comprises 27 individually-name countries, which account for more than 80 per cent of global construction equipment sales.

Workbook discontinued

One of the ways Off-Highway Research previously provided the Global Volume & Value service was via a multi-sheet Excel Workbook containing tabs for each country and equipment type. This had fallen in popularity over the years, with less than 5 per cent of our clients downloading it in the last 12 months. The addition of the new countries in South America would have made this document even more unwieldy and less practical, so Off-Highway Research has taken the decision to discontinue the Excel Workbook version of the Global Volume & Value Service.

Clients can still download the full Volume & Value Service dataset using the right-hand light blue button in our database environment. This makes the data available in CSV format, which can be easily used to build Excel Pivot Tables, or incorporated into other analytical tools such as Power BI.

New packages

In line with the restructuring of Off-Highway Research’s products and services, the Global Volume & Value Service will be replaced by our High-Level Global portfolio. The equivalent for current Volume & Value Service subscribers is the Standard package.

The more extensive Premium and Expert packages allow clients to receive reports such as Equipment Analyses, Country Analyses and Company Profiles from our Chinese, European, Indian and North American libraries. Other benefits with the more detailed packages include discounted tickets for events, more users, more access to analysts and the option of bespoke in-house briefings.

We will be in contact with all clients ahead of their subscription renewal dates to understand their requirements and suggest packages under the new structure which would best meet their needs for the future.
