Sales of mini excavators in France last year hit the highest levels since the global financial crisis. This buoyancy is expected to be maintained for the next five years, according to a new report from Off-Highway Research. However, the pre-crisis high of more than 12,000 machines sold in 2007 is not expected to be regained.
“Following several years when both public works and the building sector have been severely depressed in France, prospects are at last improving. After 8 years of stagnation, 2016 was viewed as a year of transition, with public works activity increasing by 3.8 per cent in the first 10 months of the year. Activity is forecast to increase by a further 2.5 per cent in 2017, buoyed up by a marginal increase in local authority spending, and the Grand Paris project, which will provide ample work for several years to come,” said the report.
Besides discussing sales and forecast demand for mini excavators in France, the report provides in-depth analysis on a range of issues including market shares, marketing and distribution arrangements, foreign trade & imports, domestic production & exports, component supply, machine population & end-user groups, pricing by weight categories and the range of machines available.
