Buoyant outlook for Portuguese market

By Chris Sleight |  20 October 2022

Notwithstanding the impact of the pandemic in 2020, construction equipment sales in Portugal have continued to rise over the last five years, according to a new Country Analysis from Off-Highway Research. Sales in 2021 were almost 60 per cent higher than those achieved in 2017.

Although demand for equipment is expected to peak this year roughly in line with the sales achieved in 2021, the market is expected to stay strong over the medium term.

“The building sector remains robust, thanks to ongoing demand for housing, especially on Portugal’s coastline, but also inland, while the planned upgrading of the country’s rail, road and public transport infrastructure will require investment in plant and equipment,” said the report.

At 124 pages, Off-Highway Research’s Country Analysis on Portugal  is believed to be the most detailed report ever published on the country’s construction equipment segment. As well as a high level overview and forecast, it includes detailed sections looking at market size, structure and market shares on a product-by-product basis. A further section includes profiles of the country’s major construction equipment distributors.

The report is now available to subscribers to Off-Highway Research’s European Service. It is also available to buy on our online store. Click here for details.
