Continued growth expected in Indian mini excavator segment

By Chris Sleight |  26 February 2021

There were almost no mini excavator sales in India prior to 2010. However, this is now a product offered by several suppliers, some of which manufacture in-country. This has seen demand rise to just above 1,000 units per year, and Off-Highway Research expects this to rise to well over 2,000 sales per year over the medium term.

“The market acceptance of mini excavators has been growing, and they are now being increasingly demanded by customers, even though they are still being used in specialist niche applications. The positive point is the expanding scope of usage with the new application areas that are being regularly discovered,” said Off-Highway Research’s new equipment analysis on the mini excavator market in India.

Off-Highway Research’s new equipment analysis on the mini excavator industry in India is now available to download for subscribers to the Indian Service, who can login here. It can also be bought by non-subscribers here.

It is believed to be the most detailed and in-depth report ever published on the subject, with analysis covering market size, market shares, production, foreign trade, market structure, distribution networks, end customer groups, equipment population, machines available and a five-year forecast.
