Excavators to see extra uplift from Chinese stimulus

By Chris Sleight |  26 August 2020

The surge in the equipment market in China this year will see more than 255,000 mini, crawler and wheeled excavators sold. This is one of the key findings of two new equipment analysis reports form Off-Highway Research’s Chinese Service, looking at the hydraulic excavator (above 6 tonnes) and mini excavator (6 tonnes and less) industries in China.

As previously discussed in this article, stimulus spending in China in response to the Covid-19 pandemic will see equipment sales rise 14 per cent in 2020. The previous expectation was for a downturn in sales.

The uplift for the excavator segment will be even more pronounced, with sales across all types and sizes expected to rise 21 per cent in 2020.

The 80-plus page reports on the hydraulic and mini excavator industries in China are now available to subscribers to the Chinese Service.

They are believed to be the most detailed and in-depth reports ever published on their subjects, with analysis covering market size, market shares, production, foreign trade, market structure, distribution networks, equipment population, machines available and a five-year forecast.
