Replacement demand to drive Chinese dozer sales

By Chris Sleight |  26 April 2021

Crawler dozer sales in China are forecast to grow this year, according to a new reports, The Crawler Dozer Industry in China, from Off-Highway Research.

“Road construction projects accounted for a large proportion of demand in the past, but sales of crawler dozers into this sector will doubtless decline with fewer new road projects being undertaken in the future. Although crawler dozers will play an important role in land levelling and mining, as well as in agriculture, forestry, water conservancy and refuse disposal, total demand for crawler dozers will unlikely see significant growth in future, given that some of their functions can be replaced by hydraulic excavators,” said the report

It continued, “Taking the current population, the introduction of China Stage IV emissions standards, and the macro-economic targets into consideration, demand will likely increase in 2021, fall for the next two years, and after which sales will recover. The replacement of old machines will be the major driver of new sales, and there will be few new buyers. The agriculture and water conservancy applications will play an increasingly important role in future demand.”
