Global excavator industry report now available

Off-Highway Research has published a new edition of its popular Special Report on the global excavator industry. Last published in 2017, the previous study was the best-selling report Off-Highway Research has ever produced, finding interest among equipment manufacturers, component produces and after market participants, among others.

Off- Highway Research managing director Chris Sleight said, “The report covers mini, crawler and wheeled excavators, which together represent almost half the total volume of construction machines sold around the world each year. Almost every OEM in the industry is in this sector in some way because of the universal popularity of excavators. The report also looks at the growing market for electric excavators.”

The report includes detailed regional and global trend information, and includes market structure and market share information along with five-year forecasts.

Sleight said, “OEMs, component suppliers and other stakeholders typically use our reports to understand market dynamics, analyse the changing landscape and form the strategic plans which allow their businesses to grow profitably.”

Emphasising the depth of analysis available in the report, this year’s study comes in at more than 350 pages long. Sleight said, “We now cover about 35 per cent more countries than we did in 2017. In addition, excavators are much more popular now than they were in the mid-2010s, with the volume sold now about 50 per cent higher than ten years ago, so naturally there is a lot more to write about.”

He continued, “And I would stress that this report was written by humans with an incredible level of knowledge and expertise. Across the team that worked on this there is more than 200 years of combined industry experience. With so much AI slop infesting the Internet these days, I think it’s important to point out this report was written and researched by some of the industry’s most knowledgeable experts.”
