Sales of mobile cranes in China have experienced a modest recovery since 2025

The mobile crane market in China experienced unprecedented growth after 2017, to reach a record level of almost 55,000 units in 2020. However, following an adjustment in market demand in 2021, the industry has suffered a continual decline, with the market bottoming out in 2024 with sales of 11,600 units, although there was a slight recovery in 2025 to 12,230 units.

The massive export volumes of used equipment have helped to open up opportunities for more new equipment sales, but progress may be slow given the state of the Chinese property market. Further recovery will largely depend on the broader economic situation but, in general, after the deep adjustment the market experienced between 2021 and 2025, the industry is forecast to return to normal with moderate growth in the next four years The forecast is for domestic sales to settle at over 20,000 units a year between 2028 and 2030.
