Sales of mobile cranes in India reached 15,185 units in 2025

The decrease in sales in 2025 was due to a change in emission standards in India from January 2025, with production peaking in 2024 with a substantial inventory built-up by manufacturers of cranes meeting older standards that were allowed to be sold in the first six months of 2025. Therefore, mobile crane production was exceptionally high in 2024 and much lower than sales at 8,580 units in 2025.
The total population of mobile cranes in the country is around 118,800 units, with the majority being the pick-and-carry type. The mobile crane market for all types is predicted to grow to 17,000 units in 2030.
