Sales of motor graders in North America accounted for 35 per cent of global market in 2025

Although sales of motor graders in North America are small, amounting to just over 3,000 units, or less than 1 per cent of sales across the region’s construction equipment sector in 2025, it is still the largest motor grader market in the world, bigger than South America, China, India and Japan and more than ten times the size of the market in Europe.  

The US is inevitably the largest market in North America for graders, accounting for 77 per cent of the region’s unit sales and 82 per cent of their value, with revenues of US$1.27 billion in 2025. Canada’s share of the market was 17 per cent of unit sales and 16 per cent of value, with revenues of US$250 million, while Mexico was 6 per cent and 2 per cent respectively. 

Off-Highway Research’s forecast for motor grader sales in North America up to 2030 is for a 6 per cent increase this year, with further recovery expected from 2027 to 2029 and sales of more than 3,700 units forecast for 2029, the highest for this product in North America since 2015.
